The Mark of the Toast

Burnt toast is not the easiest thing to fake in Photoshop and make it look good. And while I am a little biased, I do think my attempt was pretty good. Let me know what you think. Oh, this image will also be added to the cult’s page (Deus Ex Barba Rex) on Facebook.

I decided to mess with that photo I took yesterday morning and see what it’d look like if say it were Japanese. Now mind you, my interpretation is based on stereotypes of Japanese art that I’m pulling from my past, and probably not anything really sound or solid. But anyway, it’s how I think the moon yesterday would have looked had I been in Japan.

I didn’t know exactly what I’d do with it, but after playing with copy and paste, flipping the bird several ways, and some quick erasing, I finally starting layering the image and ended up with what I’m calling final. I didn’t want to spend too much time on it, and at just under five minutes (including a break for tea), I guess this one qualifies as perhaps a throw-up.

If you look up the Tawny Frogmouth, you’ll find that the image I created really isn’t that scary. But I’m sure this bird I created, or the original, will appear in one of my messed up dreams soon.
