The Working Class

We keep working until they tell us we can’t. They keep laying off people who won’t. They don’t hire replacements. They just add the workload onto those of us who are left. The working class got too close to living a good life, so they had to knock us back down. They were scared we’d be happy and content in our lives with things like homes, jobs, benefits, and families. They started working on taking that away, all while getting richer off our backs. We’re supposed to take it, because that’s all they’re allowing us to do. We’re supposed to be happy that they are taking these things away from us. It all seems like they just waved these things as a carrot in front of our faces to hopefully motivate us to keep the machine that’s destroying us going. And if we try to resist, they use words like “recession” and “depression” and “unemployment” to beat us back into line. Eventually they’ll have to let us have ours or risk us rising up regardless of threats and take it.
