Earnings
So this company that represents and manages our 401k decided that they’d send me an annual statement of just how kickass they are. I guess it’s to entice me into falling for the trap that seems to me to be 401ks. Well you may think I’m wrong, and many have told me I am when it comes to investing into this sort of retirement plan, but I’ve felt that it’s been better that I put my money somewhere where it’ll constantly earn money, vs risk it somewhere where it may not.
So they send me a letter that details the earnings on the 401k plan and what I’m missing out on by not being a part of it. Check it out:

So those in the plan lost close to 50 million dollars collectively. How much did my plan “lose”? Well my plan over that same time lost -$364 in interest. So yeah, if you passed 8th grade math, you realize that my plan over the same amount of time made $364 in interest. It’s not much, but it’s just me, and for some reason it keeps making money, slowly but surely.
Way to go investment company.
