DFW Trip: Saturday

We went and had breakfast at an interesting place near where Geri used to live. Seems like it was on Abrams. Can’t remember the place [The Gold Rush on Skillman], but they have biscuits and gravy as a bread option with breakfast, and it’s pretty good, so it was a good meal. Really hit the spot after a night of drinking. What didn’t hit the spot was the stench of a pothead that had either been hot boxing it on the way to breakfast, or just didn’t bathe.

We then hung out and watched college football for awhile before finally heading out for BBQ at a place called Peggy Sue’s. It’s over by some university, SMU?, or something like that. Good stuff. The meat was okay. But the sauce was probably some of the best BBQ sauce I’ve had. The turkey was great. They also made this butternut squash casserole that I’ve got to figure out how to make, as it’s just amazing. We finished the meal with some peach cobbler “alamo’d” while watching the Texans win.

It was a pretty relaxing day of college football. We watched the Texans beat Kansas, the Ducks beat Arizona, and Ole Miss beat LSU. And we had more beer. I like days where I’m not required to be anywhere, see anyone, or do anything, but maybe have a few beers, eat some good food, hang out with some good friends, and watch a few college football games.

Oh, and this dog is judging you. His name is Pudge.
