I Feel Like Chicken Tonight

I’ve been pretty depressed lately. If I don’t take drugs to sleep, I don’t sleep. Not sure how to turn off this effin’ brain in my head. So I’ve been trying to take my mind off things by thinking about future  meals I’d like to try to make. The creativity of it gets me thinking about something less depressing.

So I decided to see if I could perfect that BBQ chicken sandwich I created awhile back, and also change up the slaw. I wasn’t impressed with how the BBQ sauce turned out this time. I don’t know what I did wrong, or what ingredient I forgot, but it just wasn’t what I’d call great. It was good enough to eat, and tasty, but nowhere near what I’d made before.

As for the slaw, I had some leftover Golden Delicious apples that I needed to use up before they went bad. So after dropping a chef’s knife and almost cutting off my toes, I chopped them pretty small and added them to my other slaw ingredients. They added a nice texture, and a little bit of sweetness which works with all the acids in the slaw.

All in all it wasn’t a bad meal. It got me thinking about other things for awhile, and it was tasty. But I just wished it would have turned out better. I guess I have some more work to do before finally coming up with a perfect BBQ sauce.
