Back to the grind

Aside from a short visit with Dave and Christi yesterday, I really didn’t get out of the apartment much over the long weekend. And that was sort of the plan all along. I just didn’t really want to see massive groups of people, or deal with traffic, or the heat. So I stayed home, inside with the AC, and only went out to the store in the middle of the night like some vampire when the lines are shorter, and the aisles full of skids to restock.

And it was okay. I started to go a little stir crazy in the end. Plus seeing friends again, in LA no less, sorta bummed me out. It got me thinking about how most everyone I’ve hung out with, or friend I’ve made in LA, no longer lives here. They’ve all moved away. I’m sure it’ll also happen to me someday as well.

But today I’m back at work, and short weeks always suck no matter how optimistic people try to spin them. Perhaps it’s because I’m in production where deadlines don’t move back, only move closer, and a day off means you have to get more done in the days you do work. And today is no exception to that.

At least I got that hour yesterday with friends.
