Missy’s 3x Thursday

My answers to Missy’s 3x Thursday.

1. Would you consider yourself to have a ‘good’ diet? What kind of foods do you eat?

My diet during the week is usually pretty good. Chicken, Fish, or occasionally Pork or Beef (steak), with a lot of veggies. On the weekend I start getting pretty insane on the creativity side as I have the time for the creativity. While many times I try to keep those weekend meals healthy (or ier), I tend to eat more since I’m home longer.

2. Do you have any food allergies? If so, what are they? If not, consider yourself lucky!

Soy. Growing up with soy beans all around me, and working on farms, it’s odd to me that I’d find I have a soy allergy later in life. But I do seem to have on. This is noticeable specifically with soy milk based items, or non-dairy milk substitute type of situations. Now I don’t seem to be allergic to all soy, as I still use the hell out of some TJ Soyaki, and love some edamame, with no adverse effects. But a soy latte would be T-minus 5 minutes and counting to when I’d be forced to either find a restroom or pull my pants down and let it go right wherever I am.

3. Do you have any changes in your diet that you want/need to make? If so, what are they? If not, is there any room for improvement at all?

I’d like to be able to stick to my diet. I had a horrible diet before, I pretty much ate whatever the hell I damn well pleased all the time. I lived life to excess. Food is good, and I love it. The new diet started out as a drastic change at first because I needed radical health improvement. And over the past many months I’ve incorporated some luxuries in there so that I don’t feel like I’m so restricted. The problem with this is that, like mentioned above, it falls on the weekends, and sometimes I get a little more luxurious on the weekends than I probably should. I just need to get back into a more regimented diet that way I don’t feel so bad on those occasions when out eating bar food with friends.
