Recycled Soap

You’ve all probably used recycled soap if you’ve ever stayed at a motel or hotel, and just not really paid attention to it. With those, you have no clue who used the pieces that made up the “milled” soap that you now use on yourself. So this is sort of the same principle. For the past many years I’ve kept a container in my bathroom where I discard those soap pieces from when the bar just gets too damn small to use. Over time I’ve compiled quite a collection.

Well a couple months back I chopped up all those leftover bars into very fine pieces. Then I added hot water and let them dissolve into a sort of thick gel. I poured that gel into some silicon muffin molds that I got for less than a dollar up the street and let them sit. A few weeks later I’m left with new bars of soap recycled from dozens of bars that were too small to use before.

Now sure, they don’t look all beautiful and pretty, but damn they sure do work well. I have no complaints about my new bar soap. It’s not only allowing me to save a couple bucks, but it also allows me to get the most out of an old purchase.
