Tawny Frogmouth

Yeah, I know it’s an odd title unless you are a bird watcher, run a zoo, or maybe just love owls a lot. But if you ran a zoo or love owls a lot, you’d probably be quick to tell me that Tawny Frogmouths are not owls. But anyway, there was a photo of a Tawny Frogmouth on Wikipedia’s Photo of the Day today, and it just screamed to me that it needed some Photoshop work.

I didn’t know exactly what I’d do with it, but after playing with copy and paste, flipping the bird :D several ways, and some quick erasing, I finally starting layering the image and ended up with what I’m calling final. I didn’t want to spend too much time on it, and at just under five minutes (including a break for tea), I guess this one qualifies as perhaps a throw-up.

It's waiting on you to fall asleep.

If you look up the Tawny Frogmouth, you’ll find that the image I created really isn’t that scary. But I’m sure this bird I created, or the original, will appear in one of my messed up dreams soon.
